Worship Services, 8:15, 9:45, 11:05
Worship is the heart of our life as a community of faith. Families that worship together are teaching their children what it means to be a people of faith. BUMC embraces children as part of the worshiping community. When you are in worship with your child, be sure to ask the ushers for a Children’s bulletin. These correlate with the Pastor’s sermon.
Nursery (Infants – 3 year olds)
BUMC Nursery offers tender, loving, care for the youngest attendees of our church during Sunday morning worship and Sunday School/Small Groups. (Children may “graduate” to Sunday School classes at 9:30am if age three before August 15 and are fully potty trained.) Please provide necessary items, such as bottles, diapers, and a change of clothes. Label every item with your child’s name. For more information contact Gwen Sass at
Godly Play (4 year olds – Kindergarten)
Play is a unique method of religious instruction that allows for a great deal of self-discovery by both the children and the teachers. The over-arching goal of Godly Play is to teach children how to “come close to God all by myself.” The stories follow the pattern of the church year, and include sacred stories, parables, and liturgical action. The volunteer teachers are trained in the material so that there is a consistency teaching method every Sunday. Your child will experience the first part of worship with you and when designated in the bulletin, will bring them to Godly Play in room C318. Please pickup your child promptly at the conclusion of the service. For more information contact Sarah Cage at .
Sunday School 9:30am – 10:45am
Our preschool-4th Grade Sunday School classes use the Deep Blue curriculum, produced by Cokesbury, the publisher of The United Methodist Church. The curriculum works together with the Children’s Bible we give to our 3rd graders and our children have loved the engaging way it teaches each story.
BUMC56 is our 5th and 6th grade ministry. We use the curriculum, Submerge, a one-year Bible survey for students that will prepare them to make the transition to youth group. Submerge emphasizes nurturing faithful relationships while engaging students in fun and creative activities.
